Scapes 2026
“Scapes” was conceived as a way to build on the project “Ambiguities”(see further down this page) and explore it in drawing on the expertise of someone with a background in movement.
It is a research ot the relational fabric between body and textile as equal counterparts. Where does the body end, and where does the textile begin? How are these hierarchies negotiated? In what ways can textiles transform movement and how can movement, in turn, transform textiles? In this collaboration, artists Lafoxerine/L. Riesen (Textile Knowledge) and Jamuna Zweifel (Dance Expertise) investigate the relationship between the moving body and textile. They are both experimenting with their respective boundaries, interactions and agency. Throughout the project, Jamuna and Lafoxerine are developing interdisciplinary practices in which textiles are active participants in the performative process, not merely decorative accessories.
The first stage of “Scapes” was presented at the Open Studio Sharing event at Dynamo Zurich. This collaboration brings together knowledge and experience of textile design, performance and dance. The studio was open for 20 minutes, during which time visitors were invited to observe the research process and relax. Guests participated as observers.
Textiles: Three pieces made and designed by Lafoxerine (L. Riesen).
Duo: Lafoxerine / L. Riesen & Jamuna Zweifel.

Ambiguities 2024
Being-like bodies want to connect individually with the body and play-fully trigger unusual and ambiguous bodily sensations. “Ambiguities: textile embodiments and the bodily self”, examines the conscious use of one’s own body and textiles. By putting on the textile bodies the viewers themselves become protagonists. They are invited to consciously engage with their own bodies.
What do I perceive on my body? What do I allow to come in contact with it? How do I move?
Soft sculptures, textile art & embroidery / Made from different reused textiles / 2nd hand material / Several objects measuring approximately 50 x 50 cm.
Shown in the “Werkschau” exhibition at HSLU D&K in 2024.
